This web page is owned by WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature, former World Wildlife Fund). We rely on the support of individuals like you to carry out our vital conservation work. That is why we want to be completely transparent about why we need the personal data we request when you engage with us and how we will use them.
As you browse our website and whenever you communicate with us, we collect data. Collecting these data helps to make our communications more effective and to achieve our goals. The more data we have, the more efficiently we are able to operate and the more funds we can direct into conservation. In this privacy policy, we explain why and how we process your personal data.
We take protecting your privacy very seriously and will always take all reasonable steps within our power to make sure your information is safe.
This privacy policy applies to all personal information we collect or process about you.
‘Personal information’ is information, or a combination of pieces of information, that could reasonably allow you to be identified.
We may update this policy from time to time without notice to you, so please check it regularly.

Who we are
WWF Adria is part of World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF)  headquartered in Zagreb, Croatia, covering a few countries: Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, Croatia, Kosovo*, Macedonia, Slovenia and Serbia. WWF Adria works on preservation and sustainable management of various ecosystems in forests, seas, oceans, freshwaters and protected areas in the Mediterranean region. Also, WWF Adria tries to raise awareness about importance of nature, biodiversity and different ecological processes in Mediterranean and Dinaric Arc regions.

  1. The data we are collecting
 
We collect personal data such as your name, phone number, e-mail, IP address, etc. Every information connected to the identity of a person is considered as personal data. We collect that information only for specified and familiar activities such as memberships, campaigns, feedback, surveys and researches, newsletter subscriptions and similar activities. It is not obligatory for you to give us any information you do not intend or want to.
Furthermore, we collect impersonal data, which is the data that cannot give us information about your identity. It involves, for the example, pages you visit and files you download. That data enables us to determine how many people visit and use our page, which pages are the most and which are the least popular and visited. We do not know who you are, we use that information only to control and improve our service.
All of our use of personal data is in accordance with the law. The law requires us to only process data where we have a valid legal basis for doing so. Also, we aim to ensure we have appropriate physical, technical and managerial controls in place to protect your personal details. We will only keep your personal information for as long as is necessary for the purpose for which it is collected, which may include the purpose of satisfying any legal, accounting or reporting requirements. If you decide you do not want us to have your data, we will delete them in two weeks after your request.

We collect personal data every time you interact with us. We collect personal data when you browse our website, but also when our fundraising team engages directly with you.
We collect data when:
  • Become a supporter of WWF Adria
  • Participate in an event of WWF Adria or volunteer with us
  • Make a donation to us
  • Buy any of our certificates
  • Subscribe to our e-newsletters or request information from us
  • Sign a petition or become involved with one of our campaigns
  • Visit one of our websites or social media pages via tools such as cookies and online identifiers, including if you make comments on our message boards or discussion forums
  • Apply for a job or consultancy with us
  • Contact us or become involved with us in any other way than as stated above
 
What data do we collect?
The type and quantity of data we collect and how we use it depends on and is restricted to why you are providing it. The data we may collect from the different sorts of interactions may include, but is not limited to:
  • Your name, address, telephone number, and/or email address
  • Financial information which you give to us, such as credit card number
  • Information you enter onto our website
  • Records of your donation history and correspondence and campaign actions taken with us
  • Images, photographs or video if you take part in an event with us
  • Details of your visit to the website, including technical information such as the IP address you use to access the website, your browser type and version
  • Any other details in which you give us including your reasons for supporting us
  • We might also obtain personal data about individuals who may be interested in giving major gifts to organizations like ours. In these limited cases only, in addition to information you give us directly, we may also collect information about you from publicly available sources.
We have the right to collect all previously stressed data according to the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Furthermore, we must not collect any data you have not agreed to give us.
We keep your data until your request for deleting it, after which we delete every information we have about you in two weeks.
 
What we use your data for:

  • Sending you tailored communications and displaying relevant adverts which we think will be of interest to you
  • Sending you marketing materials including on fundraising, campaigning and events
  • Inviting you to events and to take part in campaigns and support our advocacy work
  • Analysing our database for statistical purposes, and to better communicate with you about things we think will be of interest. Note that this is on a generic rather than an individual level to ensure that our communications are cost effective
  • In limited circumstances, analysing the personal information we collect about you and using publicly available information to better understand your interests, preferences and level of potential donations so that we can contact you more effectively and be better prepared in special circumstances when we may meet with you.
All information you provide us will only be used for the purpose for which it was intended.
We aim to ensure we have appropriate physical, technical and managerial controls in place to protect your personal details; for the example our online forms are always encrypted and our network is protected and routinely monitored. We have put in place appropriate security measures to prevent your personal data from being accidentally lost, used or accessed in an unauthorized way, altered or disclosed. Whilst we hope it will never happen, we have procedures to deal with any suspected personal data breach and will notify you and any applicable regulator of a breach where we are required to do so. In order to avoid some kind of manipulation or abuse of your personal information, we recommend you to contact us on following e-mail address: donacije@wwfadria.org in case of donations and transport of your important personal data. Despite all of our precautions however, no data transmission over the internet can be guaranteed to be 100% secure. So, whilst we strive to protect your personal information, we cannot guarantee the security of any information which you disclose to us and so wish to draw your attention that you do so at your own risk.

Data protection pursuant to the General Data Protection Regulation of the European Parliament and the Council no. 2016/679- Regulation and implementation of the GDPR.  
WSPay, being the processor of authorization and payment made by credit cards, uses personal data as the processor pursuant to the General Data Protection Regulation of the European Parliament and the Council no. 2016/679, and compliant with PCI DSS Level 1 Regulations for data transfers.
 
WSPay uses 256-bit SSL encryption and TLS 1.2 cryptographic protocol as the highest protection standards for data entry and transfer.
 
Personal data used for the purposes of authorization and payment are deemed to be confidential data.
 
WSPay ensures to meet the requirements determined by applicable personal data protection regulations, for the processors of personal data, especially taking all necessary technical, organizational or security measures confirmed by PCI DSS Level 1 certificate.

All payments will be effected in Croatian currency. The charged amount on your credit card account is converted into your local currency according to the exchange rate of credit card associations.
  1. Where do we keep your data?
Personal data is kept only in WWF data basis. We do not sell or share personal data to third parties, unless you give us your direct permission. GDPR demands data processing before signing any contracts for protection of legitimate interests of our organization and you as the user or supporter of our work.
 
  1. What tools do we use for collecting and processing data?
We use tools for analysis, adaptation, and improvement of our pages. What is more, tracking our page enables us to note the usage of it for statistics and the development of our web.
We use Google Analytics. Users can turn it off in case of advertisements and adapt them according to their wishes.
 
Depending on your settings or the privacy policies for social media and messaging services like Facebook and LinkedIn, you might give us permission to access information from those accounts or services. However, WWF Adria does not collect data from social media and is not part of their analysis.
It is also possible that Facebook and LinkedIn use their own cookies, but if you want to find out more about their usage of your data, you have to read their privacy policies. WWF has no access to that information and does not provide them with any information.

You have the right to request access to your personal data, commonly known as a ‘subject access request’. This enables you to receive a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
REQUEST CORRECTION OF YOUR PERSONAL DATA
You can request that we correct the personal data we hold about you. This enables you to have an incomplete or inaccurate data we hold about you corrected.
REQUEST DELETION OF YOUR PERSONAL DATA
You have the right to ask us to erase your personal data in certain circumstances. Please note however that there may be circumstances where you ask us to erase your personal data but we are legally required or entitled to retain it.
OBJECT TO PROCESSING OF YOUR PERSONAL DATA OR REQUEST RESTRICTION
Where we are processing your data under the legitimate interest condition, then you may object to this processing, or request that the processing is restricted, if there is something about your particular situation which makes you want to object to processing on this ground as you feel it impacts on your fundamental rights and freedoms. Note that there may be circumstances where you object to or ask us to restrict, our processing of your personal data but we are legally required or entitled to continue to process your personal data and/or to refuse your request. In some cases, we may demonstrate that we have a compelling legitimate ground to process your information which overrides your rights and freedoms.
REQUEST TRANSFER OF YOUR PERSONAL DATA
In certain circumstances, you are able to request a transfer of your data from one service provided to another, such as from one service provider to a competitor.

We are committed to working with you to obtain a fair resolution of any complaint or concern about privacy.
If you have a complaint then please contact us at info@wwfadria.org in the first instance and we hope to be able to resolve your complaint. If however, you believe that we have not been able to assist with your complaint or concern and you believe we are not respecting your rights, you are entitled to make a complaint to a relevant supervisory authority.

Like many other websites, we use cookies, which are text files placed on your computer, to better understand how our site is used, to make sure our information and dynamic content are served correctly, and to improve the performance of our site for our users, particularly the way search pages are delivered. WWF Adria does not use cookies to retain personal information about our users, and we do not sell information about our traffic patterns.
This website uses Google Analytics to help analyze how users use the site. The tool uses cookies to collect standard Internet log information and visitor behavior information in an anonymous form. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the website (including your IP address) is transmitted to Google. This information is then used to evaluate visitors’ use of the website and to compile statistical reports on web site activity for WWF.
 
We will never (and will not allow any third party to) use the statistical analytics tool to track or to collect any personally identifiable information of visitors to our site. Google will not associate your IP address with any other data held by Google. Neither we nor Google will link, or seek to link, an IP address with the identity of a computer user. We will not associate any data gathered from this site with any personally identifiable information from any source unless you explicitly submit that information via a fill-in form on our website.
However, you can disable cookies in your browser, but we have to warn you that causes limitation to the usage of our services. You can also delete already accepted cookies.
